Smashed Brussels Sprouts

Serves: 3

Time: 30 minutes

These smashed brussels sprouts are so crispy and tasty, and make the perfect side dish to impress your guests! Just double or triple the quantities below depending on how many you are serving, and also you can add more or less of any of the seasonings based on your taste. They are so simple and I highly recommend adding them to your Christmas dinner table.

Ingredients :

  • 500g brussels sprouts

  • 2 tablespoons of sriracha

  • 2 tablespoons of nutritional yeast

  • ½ tsp of salt

  • 1.5 tablespoons of garlic seasoning

  • Balsamic glaze to drizzle over them

Cooking Steps:

  1. Pre-heat your oven to 200C.

  2. Steam or boil your brussels sprouts until cooked.

  3. Leave them to cool, and once they have cooled, transfer them to a large mixing bowl.

  4. Add in all of your seasonings, other than the balsamic glaze, and mix them all around until the sprouts are coated.

  5. Transfer the sprouts to a lined baking sheet. Using the bottom of a glass, smash each brussels sprout until flattened.

  6. Once all have been flattened, add any extra of your seasonings as you wish.

  7. Cook in the oven for 20 minutes, until they have nice crispy edges.

  8. Once removed from the oven, drizzle over your balsamic glaze and serve up. Enjoy!
